About this check
Does this check the GST portal?
No. It checks the structure of each GSTIN: 15 characters, a valid state code, the PAN pattern and the check digit. That catches most typing mistakes. To confirm a GSTIN is active, search it on the GST portal.
Is my list uploaded anywhere?
No. The check runs entirely in your browser.
How does the check digit work?
The 15th character is calculated from the first 14 using a weighted sum in base 36. If any one character is mistyped, the check digit almost never matches.
