WhatsApp + TallyIn development: early access

WhatsApp orders, posted to Tally while the chat is still open.

Retailers and contractors send orders the way they like: a typed list, a photo of a notebook page, a voice note, three messages in a row. OrderDak reads them on your WhatsApp Business number, posts the Sales Order to Tally and replies with the confirmation.

Free during the pilot: no card, no contract.

What WhatsApp ordering looks like today

  • Orders arrive mixed with payment screenshots, follow-ups and "bhaiya urgent" reminders, so some get missed.
  • One order can be spread across several messages, or changed an hour later.
  • Photos of handwritten slips and voice notes have to be read and typed by someone.
  • Tally's WhatsApp feature sends invoices and reminders out; it does not read orders coming in.

How OrderDak handles a WhatsApp order

  • Messages from the same customer within a few minutes are grouped into one order. Payment screenshots and chit-chat are ignored.
  • Typed lists and photos are read directly; voice notes in Hindi and English are transcribed first.
  • The sender's number is linked to their party ledger after the first order.
  • Lines are matched to stock items and checked against price list, credit and stock, then posted as a Tally Sales Order.
  • The customer gets a WhatsApp reply listing the confirmed items, and anything short or changed.

Setting it up

  1. Connect your WhatsApp Business number through Meta's official WhatsApp Business Platform. Your number keeps working with your customers.

  2. Install the OrderDak app on the Tally PC.

  3. Pick which messages should create orders automatically and which should always go to review.

Good to know

  • Needs the WhatsApp Business Platform (API). Orders sent to a personal WhatsApp or the WhatsApp Business app on a phone can be forwarded to OrderDak's email address instead.
  • Replies outside WhatsApp's 24-hour service window use an approved message template, which Meta charges for per message.

Questions

Will my customers notice anything different?

Only that they get a confirmation faster. They keep messaging the same number.

Can it read Hindi or Gujarati?

It reads Hindi, Hinglish and English in text, photos and voice notes. Other Indian languages are being tested.
