Customer orders into Tally Prime Sales Orders, without retyping.
OrderDak reads every customer purchase order, matches it to your Tally party ledgers and stock items, checks it, and creates the Sales Order voucher in your company. Pending orders then flow into your usual Tally reports and invoicing.
Free during the pilot: no card, no contract.
How orders get into Tally today
- Someone reads each WhatsApp message or PDF and creates the Sales Order by hand (Alt+F8 → Sales Order, after enabling order processing in F11).
- Excel import works only if the sheet is in Tally's own template, which your customers never use.
- PDF readers create a draft from one document at a time, and the stock item still has to match exactly.
- Price, credit limit and stock checks happen from memory, after the order is already in.
How OrderDak posts to Tally
- A small OrderDak app on the Tally PC reads your stock items and Sundry Debtors ledgers through Tally's built-in XML interface on that PC.
- Each order is matched to the party ledger (by GSTIN, sender or name) and to stock items, using the names each customer actually writes.
- Rates are checked against your stock item rates; credit limit, closing balance, stock and pack size are checked before posting. Customer-specific price lists are in development.
- The Sales Order voucher is created with the party ledger, your sales and GST ledgers, quantities with units, the buyer's PO number and the due date. CGST + SGST or IGST is chosen from the place of supply.
- Tally's response is read back. The voucher ID is stored so the order can be traced from the original WhatsApp message to the voucher.
Setting it up
Enable order processing in TallyPrime (F11 → Inventory features) and check the Sales Order voucher type exists.
Install the OrderDak app on the PC where Tally runs and pick the company.
Create one Sales Order by hand. OrderDak reads it to learn your exact ledgers, godown and GST setup.
Forward your order email or connect WhatsApp. The first orders go to review so you can teach it your customers' item names.
Good to know
- TallyPrime 3.0 or later. Tally must be open with the company loaded for orders to post; they queue safely until it is.
- Tally's XML interface has no login of its own, so the OrderDak app never opens it to the network. It only makes outgoing HTTPS connections.
- Batch and expiry allocation (pharma) is on the roadmap; today orders post to the default godown and batch.
What gets posted
Part of the Sales Order voucher OrderDak sends to Tally (sample data). The full format is in our Tally Sales Order XML guide.

...Questions
Does it create Sales Orders or Sales Invoices?
Sales Orders, so your team keeps control of dispatch and invoicing. Invoicing from the pending order works as it does today in Tally.
What if a stock item name doesn't match?
The line goes to review with the closest stock items. Pick one once and OrderDak remembers it for that customer.
Does it work with Tally on Cloud or a remote desktop?
Yes, if the OrderDak app can run on the same Windows machine as Tally. It needs outgoing HTTPS only.
Does it work with Tally ERP 9?
TallyPrime 3.0 or later is supported. Tally ERP 9 is not supported.
